Education

The education part of CCDO were very organized and had big impact on many of the students as many, who are interested in pursuing education are able to continue their education beyond the high school system. The education part of the CCDO also faces many challenges as branches such as English and technology education are not as organized or advanced as other branches. English and technology faces many challenges because internet and resources are not available. We believe in supporting the installation of the internet and computers will help to solve this issue since new technology and education for this starts from the internet and we believe that connection to the internet creates more opportunities for the kids in school.

Through speaking to the staff and teachers working for CCDO, we were told that there are such a significant difference in the level of education using internet. According to what we were told, in the city, there are enough internet and computer for all of the students which allows them to learn about programming and other skills using internet which allows them to have so much more job opportunities. Similar to the internet education, there are differences between English education in the city and rural area since in the city, they are able to have teachers who can fluently speak English but in the rural area, many of the teachers are still learning English. This, similar to internet education creates a significant decrease in the job opportunities for the students in the rural area. Also, in the rural area, we have seen that there are not as much student going to school as it is told on the internet.

Empowering Women

As for CCDO, they also work on empowering of women by creating job opportunities, funding to start a business, and to continue the support even after finding a job or starting a business. This allows women to become more independent and to not rely too much on husband. By creating a financial independence for women, CCDO allows women to stay safe from abuse and allows the next generation of women to have even more power in the society of Cambodia. As when we went to talk to women, they have told that they feel more independent and they are able to feel that they can also support the family.

How UchiConnect Will Like to Support

UchiConnect would like to support by having a fundraising to support the internet education since this creates more job opportunities to future generation and creates less gap between rural area and in the city. In the future, we would also like to increase the students who consistently go to high school and finish high school. We hope to further update everyone with exciting news.
